WESTWOOD — Local vegan Polly Mitchell shared her advice Tuesday on how to live a more ethical lifestyle through her sustainable snacks produced by children in the Third World. “A lot of people just ignore the fact that their honey is produced by bees living in conditions of slavery,” said Mitchell as she ate a bowl of quinoa harvested and packaged by a 12-year-old child in Brazil. “It’s appalling how little empathy meat-eaters have for others. Have they never considered that animals are people, too?” At press time, Mitchell was buying “End Speciesism” shirts on Shein for the Animal Lives Matter (ALM) protest she was organizing.
