KOBE, JAPAN — In response to the wave of Latino infants being named after Japan’s cultural exports such as Goku and Roki Sasaki, Japanese sports fanatic Ono Saiko has named his newborn son Hernández Kiké, after Dodgers utility player Kiké Hernández. “Sure, Shohei and Yoshinobu, national heroes, but Kiké Hernández? As they say in Puerto Rico, he’s got cojones,” said Saiko, holding the baby with a knuckleball grip. “The missus was royally pissed when she found out, but if she cared so much she wouldn’t have passed out mid C-section. She doesn’t have that dog in her. Kiké wouldn’t have passed out.” At press time, Saiko was taking batting practice with balled-up divorce papers.
