CHICAGO—Comedy legend Bill Murray had people in stitches Tuesday morning when he made an unexpected appearance at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, crashing super-fan Rich Browning’s triple-bypass surgery. “We had just put the patient under and were preparing to make the primary incision when – wouldn’t you know it – Carl Spackler himself walks right into the room,” explained attending physician Walter Davis, referring to Murray’s legendary portrayal of a dim-witted groundskeeper in the hit film Caddyshack. “I mean, it was incredible! It’s not every day that you get to meet a real-life Ghostbuster, and in my operating room, no less!” Mr. Browning is survived by his wife Nancy and his two daughters, Dana and Janine. Services are scheduled for 1:00pm on Friday, at St. James Chapel, 835 N. Rush St.
