LOS ANGELES—Local high school student Danette Evans discovered a song on the radio that perfectly embodied her innermost feelings, she reported Monday. “So apparently, there’s this song called ‘I Will Follow You Into The Dark,’ and it is truly something,” said Evans, who plans to use some of the song’s lyrics for her senior quote next spring. “Like, I had never really thought about it, but if I loved someone, I would totally want us to hold each other soon in the blackest of rooms. And ‘Catholic school, vicious as Roman rule?’ I go to a school too! It’s literally like this song was written about my life.” Evans claims the last time she felt so well understood was when she had to read The Catcher in the Rye for English class, and J.D. Salinger reportedly “did a really good job” of describing her general outlook and sense of self.
