Excited Freshman Loves Learning But At His Own Pace

WESTWOOD – In a conversation with the classmate closest to him in his Sociology 1 discussion, pre-economics major and first-year freshman Steven Coleman revealed that he really did love learning, but at his own pace. “It’s why UCLA was my top choice. I really wanted to attend a college that balances academics and fun, one that cares about you and how you best learn,” said Coleman, pausing on his way out of the classroom to thank the TA for facilitating a great discussion. “I don’t feel pressured at UCLA. The people are great, the lectures are engaging and it’s just an all-around fun time.” Once back in his dorm room, Coleman laid on his bunk bed, stared at the midterms marked on his wall calendar, and reminded himself that UCLA had some of best dining halls in the entire country.
