HOLLYWOOD — Tonight, the Academy of Motion Arts and Pictures has announced that the modern-classic, “Old UCLA Hoodie and Jeans,” has won an Oscar for Best Costume Design. “This year was a toughie. Between papal robes, tweed jackets, whatever ‘Emilia Pérez’ had going on, and those little black and white bandanas that raised such a hullabaloo, nothing slayed harder than strutting through Bruinwalk with that stained neon blue hoodie and wrinkly jeans every morning,” said host Conan O’Brien while fully changing into the outfit on stage. “The UCLA Store put all their student workers’ blood, sweat, and tears into selling these $60 lumps of fabric. No matter the conditions on set: rainstorm, firestorm, smokestorm, getting heckled by Andre – this fit never lost its shine under that ratty JanSport backpack.” At press time, O’Brien was taking fit pics on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
