WESTWOOD — 20 first-years have died trying to secure the last five MATH 31B lecture spots for the 2025 Spring quarter. “My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, obviously, but at least it means less competition for enrollment next quarter,” said first-year computer science major Dee Odorant, ready to not attend a single lecture if she gets off the waitlist. “I know the professor’s Bruinwalk rating is in the negatives, but if one of the others succumbs to their injuries, I bet he’ll give me a PTE.” At press time, a vigil was being prepared for the lives lost in MATH 32A’s second pass.
