WESTWOOD — The UCLA Housing administration was astonished to learn on Friday that the Hill’s elevators do, in fact, need permits. “It just completely slipped my mind,” said Chris Philfaffel, Dean of Intrabuilding Transportation. “I obviously remembered that we had elevators, since they breakdown so often and I’m the one who has to tell somebody else to fix them. But the idea that somebody else is supposed to come and inspect my elevators, unfathomable.” The Housing Department was also shocked when informed there are procedures in place for repairing fire alarms.
