UCLA Bans Bruin Walk Flyerers in Effort to Eliminate Waste by 2020

WESTWOOD — As part of UCLA’s green initiative to eliminate all waste by 2020, UCLA Chancellor Gene Block announced that flyers and subsequent flyer-ers on BruinWalk have been banned. “It was long overdue,” said Gene Block, adding that other unnecessary waste such as plastic straws and textbooks will also be banned. “This initiative kills two birds with one stone; not only does it help the environment, but students can finally walk to class without avoiding Bruin Walk. This administration is committed to addressing student needs, but only when it’s convenient.” In response to the recent news, many club presidents have announced that they will now be exploring green alternatives to advertising to students who have little to no interest in joining their organizations.
