LAGOS — Former internet giant Yahoo! is facing a lawsuit from princes in Nigeria, who claim Yahoo!’s handling of the “Nigerian Prince” email scam has left their reputations tarnished. “Whenever I tell someone I am a Nigerian Prince, my noble position is subject to mockery,” said a representative of the NPTRC, the Nigerian Prince Title Reparation Collective. “The worst part is, one of our fellow members actually needed an advance payment to get out of prison. Unfortunately, due to imposters, his request for money went unheeded and he was left incarcerated.” Yahoo! has not responded to the NPTRC’s requests, as the lawsuit information was sent over Gmail, which Yahoo! representatives abstain from using.
